The Peak Phu Quoc: 7 Best Tips for a Sunset Visit
The Peak Phu Quoc is a hilltop art and sunset spot above Duong Dong, in the central part of Phu Quoc island. People come here for panoramic views, unusual installations, Love Bridge, Heaven Gate, gardens, terraces, a bar, a restaurant and that feeling of being somewhere “above Phu Quoc.”
At first, I thought The Peak was simply a nice cafe with a view. But when I arrived, it felt more like a full sunset destination. You can walk around, take photos, see the installations, choose a terrace, have a drink, stay for dinner or simply watch the light change from daytime to sunset and then to evening lights.
The main thing is not to treat The Peak as a quick one-coffee stop. If you come only for one drink and leave, the place may feel a little strange: a cafe with an entrance fee and a big territory. It makes much more sense if you see it as a small hilltop walk, a photo spot, a restaurant venue and a sunset stop.
Quick answer: The Peak Phu Quoc is worth visiting if you want a scenic evening plan above Duong Dong with views, photo spots, a walk, drinks or dinner. It is not an essential stop for every traveler, but it works well if you want something more atmospheric than a regular cafe.

What is The Peak Phu Quoc?
The Peak is not just a cafe and not just a viewpoint. It is a hilltop art complex in central Phu Quoc with viewing points, sculptures, bridges, gardens, terraces, a bar, a restaurant and romantic photo zones.
Inside the area, you can find:
- the large two-face entrance installation
- Couple Statue / Timeless Kiss
- Love Bridge
- Heaven Gate
- Eden Pool
- gardens and terraces
- Hobbit Room / Hobbit-style spaces
- Bamboo Sky Restaurant
- bar and viewpoint areas
The mood is somewhere between a viewpoint, an art park, a photo spot and a restaurant on a hill. This is not untouched wild nature. It is a designed tourist location. But the height, greenery, open views and sunset light make it feel quite impressive.
Where is The Peak Phu Quoc located?
The Peak is located on Điện Tiên hill above Duong Dong. If you stay in the central part of Phu Quoc, it is fairly easy to reach. If you stay in the north or south of the island, check the route and travel time in advance.
We came by taxi, and the road was calm and straightforward. It did not feel like a difficult climb or a confusing road. Right at the entrance, you see the huge two-face installation, and it immediately gives the place a strong wow factor.
I would not plan to walk there. It is still a hill, Phu Quoc can be hot, and distances on the island often feel longer than they look on the map. It is better to save your energy for walking around the actual territory.
If you go by scooter, check the weather and road conditions before you leave. After rain, hill roads can be less pleasant, and if you are going for sunset, leave extra time.
Entrance fee and tickets
When I visited, the entrance fee was 150,000 VND. We bought the ticket from a guard on the right side near the entrance.
In my opinion, this price makes sense if you treat The Peak as more than a regular cafe. You are not paying only for a drink. You are paying for the territory, the views, the installations, the terraces and the whole sunset experience.
The best way to visit is to arrive a little before sunset, walk around first, see the main spots, choose your favorite terrace and then sit down for drinks or dinner.
The two-face entrance installation
The first thing I remember from The Peak is the huge two-face installation near the entrance. It looks dramatic and immediately sets the tone for the whole place: love, symbols, romance, photos, sunset and views.
This is not a small sculpture hidden somewhere in a garden. It is a large visual object, and it is almost impossible to pass it without taking a photo.
In a way, it works like a gateway into The Peak. You have not reached the terraces or Love Bridge yet, but you already understand that this is not a normal hilltop cafe.
If you enjoy unusual photo locations, you can start shooting right from the entrance.
Couple Statue and Timeless Kiss
Couple Statue, also known as Timeless Kiss, is one of the main symbolic areas of The Peak. It is a large romantic installation and a key part of the visual concept of the place.
This area is clearly designed for couples, wedding photos, romantic videos, proposals and social media shots. If you like aesthetic, slightly theatrical locations, you will immediately understand why people come here.
If you do not enjoy staged tourist places, the sculptures may feel too decorative. But within the concept of The Peak, they work well. The place does not pretend to be wild nature. It creates a visual mood, and the romantic theme is part of it.

Heaven Gate: the viewpoint above the island
Heaven Gate is one of the most popular points at The Peak Phu Quoc. It is a stone viewpoint area on the hillside, with views over Phu Quoc, green hills and the sea.
The Peak is often described as a location at around 700 metres above sea level. The main feeling here is height and open space: you stand above the island, look at the greenery and sea, and Phu Quoc starts to feel like more than beaches and roads.
In good weather, Heaven Gate looks especially nice closer to sunset, when the light becomes softer. You can also come during the day, but open areas in Phu Quoc heat can be tiring.
I would not come here only for Heaven Gate. But as part of a walk around The Peak, it is definitely one of the spots worth seeing.
Love Bridge: photos and sunset views
Love Bridge is another popular area inside The Peak. It is a curved bridge that opens toward the greenery and space around the hill.
It works well as a photo spot. You can shoot the bridge itself, people against the panorama, details, sunset light and the view over the slopes. During the day, it is a nice walking point. In the evening, it becomes one of the places where the sunset atmosphere feels stronger.
If you come not only for the restaurant but also to walk through the area, I would not skip Love Bridge. It helps you experience The Peak as a route, not just as one terrace: entrance, installations, bridge, gardens, viewpoints and then food or drinks.
Eden Pool, terraces and gardens
Apart from the main art objects, The Peak also has Eden Pool, terraces, gardens and walking areas. This is exactly why it is better to arrive before sunset, not at the very last minute.
The place works well when you move through it slowly. You pass one area, reach a view, go up or down to another point, find a new angle, take photos and then decide where to sit.
Flowers, greenery, terraces and open views make the space feel calmer, even though the location is clearly designed and tourist-oriented.
Do not expect a wild botanical garden. This is not about untouched nature. The strength of the place is the combination of gardens, architecture, height, views and evening light.
Hobbit Room and Love Bridge Table
The Peak also has more special setups, such as Hobbit Room and Love Bridge Table. These are not just casual walking areas. They are designed for people who want to make the evening feel more special: a romantic dinner, a beautiful table, a private mood, a photoshoot or a celebration.
The Hobbit-style area looks fairytale-like, with rounded forms and a cozy mood. It may appeal to travelers who like unusual restaurants and places where the setting is almost as important as the food.
For a simple visit, these zones are more like extra details. But if you are looking for a romantic evening in Phu Quoc, they make The Peak more interesting than just another cafe with a view.
Bar, restaurant, Wi-Fi and working with a view
The Peak is not only about coffee or cocktails. There is a bar and a proper restaurant, so the place works better as a longer stop: come before sunset, walk around, choose a terrace and then stay for drinks or dinner.
We had laptops with us and even worked for a while. There was Wi-Fi and power, so it was comfortable enough for a short work session. But the real value here is not the work setup and not only the menu. It is the whole scenario: go up the hill, walk around the grounds, wait for sunset light and stay as the evening atmosphere appears.
Before you go, check the current menu, prices, opening hours and booking options, especially if you want sunset timing or one of the special setups.

How to visit The Peak Phu Quoc in the best way
The Peak works best as a small evening plan, not as a quick stop.
I would do it like this:
- arrive a little before sunset
- buy the ticket at the entrance
- walk around the territory first
- see the two-face entrance installation
- go to Love Bridge and Heaven Gate
- check Eden Pool, terraces and gardens
- choose a place with a view
- stay for drinks or dinner
- wait for the shift from daylight to sunset and evening lights
If you come only for one coffee, you may not understand why there is an entrance fee. But if you treat The Peak as a hilltop walk, photo location, sunset viewpoint and restaurant complex, the place becomes much more logical.
Best time to visit The Peak Phu Quoc
The best time to visit The Peak is closer to sunset.
You can also come during the day, but Phu Quoc heat can drain your energy quickly, especially in open areas. In the late afternoon, the light becomes softer, the views look better and the whole idea of the place makes more sense.
I would plan around 1.5 to 3 hours for The Peak. If you only want to walk around and take a few photos, you can spend less time. If you want dinner, drinks, sunset and a slow visit, do not rush.
I would not arrive in the very last minutes before sunset. The best part is not only the final sunset. It is the sequence: arrive, look around, walk through the area, choose a terrace and then calmly watch how the light changes.
Who will enjoy The Peak Phu Quoc?
The Peak Phu Quoc can be a good choice for travelers who:
- like viewpoints
- want a beautiful sunset spot
- enjoy photo locations with views, bridges, flowers and sculptures
- like romantic places
- want more than a simple cafe
- need a place with Wi-Fi and a view for a short work session
- want to combine a walk, photos, drinks and dinner
- stay in Duong Dong or nearby
- want to see Phu Quoc from above, not only from the beach
It is a good option if you have already seen some beaches and want a different angle of the island: greenery, hills, views and evening atmosphere.
Who may want to skip The Peak?
The Peak may not be for you if you dislike staged tourist places, photo zones and romantic symbolism.
If you are more interested in local life, markets, small cafes, pagodas or natural places without decorative elements, The Peak may feel too artificial.
I also would not put it above the main beaches, island trips or sea routes if you have only two or three days in Phu Quoc. It is more of a nice addition to a trip than a place to build your whole itinerary around.
What to combine with The Peak Phu Quoc
The Peak is easy to combine with central Phu Quoc and Duong Dong.
On the same day, you can add:
- cafes or a short walk in Duong Dong
- Phu Quoc Night Market
- dinner in the center
- a beach stop before sunset
- a calm evening after an active day
- a route around the central part of the island
If you stay in the center, it can be a good evening plan: beach or errands during the day, The Peak closer to sunset, then dinner or the night market.
If you stay far away, decide in advance whether it is worth going there specially. In my opinion, The Peak works best for people who want a scenic evening with a view, not just a quick coffee stop.
Is The Peak Phu Quoc worth visiting?
Yes, if you want more than a cafe: a beautiful evening location with views, a walk and sunset.
The Peak works best as a place for 1.5 to 3 hours. Arrive before sunset, walk through the territory, choose a viewpoint and stay for the evening light. In that format, the entrance fee makes sense, and the visit does not turn into “why did we come up here for one drink?”
I would not put The Peak on the list of absolute must-see places in Phu Quoc if you only have a couple of days on the island. But as an atmospheric stop above Duong Dong, especially for sunset, photos or dinner with a view, it is a good option.

Final thoughts
The Peak Phu Quoc is not a wild hidden viewpoint and not a local daily-life spot. It is a designed hilltop venue with views, installations, gardens, a bar and restaurant.
But if you understand the format before you go, it can work very well. Come for the whole experience, not for one quick drink: walk around, take photos, choose a terrace and let the sunset do the rest.
For me, The Peak makes the most sense as a slow evening stop above Duong Dong. Not essential, but very pleasant if you want to add height, views and a more atmospheric sunset moment to your Phu Quoc itinerary.
