Kiss of the Sea Phu Quoc: Is This Sunset Town Show Worth It?

Kiss of the Sea Phu Quoc is a large evening performance in Sunset Town combining water screens, fire, lasers, acrobatics, music and fireworks over the sea. I went without especially high expectations, but the scale and the finale made it one of the most memorable evenings of my Phu Quoc trip.

Quick answer: Kiss of the Sea Phu Quoc is worth considering if you enjoy spectacular stage effects and are already visiting southern Phu Quoc. Arrive early, spend time around Sunset Town and Kiss Bridge, and check the show date and ticket inclusions before you book.

What is Kiss of the Sea Phu Quoc?

Kiss of the Sea is an open-air multimedia show by the waterfront in Sunset Town. Water, light, fire, projections, live performers and fireworks combine into a visual story. The plot is easy to follow, but you do not need to study it beforehand: the production is designed around a sequence of large visual moments.

The show gives you a reason to stay in the south after sunset. During the day, Sunset Town is mainly architecture, viewpoints and photo spots; in the evening, the lights, food stalls and waterfront make the area feel more active.

Where does the show take place?

The venue is in Sunset Town, in southern Phu Quoc, near Kiss Bridge, the Hon Thom cable car station and Vui-Fest Bazaar. That makes it easy to build a relaxed evening around the performance instead of travelling across the island just to watch it.

  • Arrive before sunset and explore the waterfront.
  • Walk around Kiss Bridge and the nearby squares.
  • Have dinner or snacks around Vui-Fest Bazaar.
  • Head to the venue with time to find your seat and settle in.
  • Stay through the fireworks and take a short waterfront walk afterwards.

Vui Fest Bazaar is useful in the evening for food, drinks and a livelier atmosphere.

If you are coming from Duong Dong or the north of the island, plan your return ride before the show. Staying in Sunset Town or near Khem Beach makes the evening simpler. See my guides to Sunset Town, where to stay in Sunset Town and getting around Phu Quoc without a scooter.

What is the show like?

The strongest impression is the scale: a broad stage on the water, performers appearing through light and projection, and multiple effects building towards the finale. It is polished, theatrical entertainment rather than a small traditional performance, so it will suit you best if you actively enjoy big visual shows.

I also liked the details tied to the island, including images of the Phu Quoc ridgeback dog and dugong. They give parts of the performance a local connection without making the show feel like a documentary.

The fireworks are part of the evening’s payoff. When I visited, they began around 9:30 pm and lasted roughly five minutes; timing can change, so do not plan a tight transfer immediately after the advertised show end.

Where to sit and what to know before you go

Arrive early enough to find your seat and get comfortable. A higher position can make it easier to take in the full stage and fireworks; if you are attending with children, leave extra time rather than arriving at the last minute. Be considerate if filming so you do not block another guest’s view.

  • Confirm the date, show time and ticket type on the day you book.
  • Check whether the ticket includes a seat category, dinner or transfer.
  • Read cancellation and rescheduling terms before checkout.
  • Allow time for the walk from nearby attractions and for your return ride.

Is Kiss of the Sea worth visiting?

I would recommend Kiss of the Sea Phu Quoc if you are already planning an evening in southern Phu Quoc and like large-scale performances with water, light, fire and fireworks. The show works best as the centrepiece of a Sunset Town evening, with Kiss Bridge, dinner and a walk by the sea around it.

I would skip it if you prefer quiet evenings, local everyday life or small traditional performances. Kiss of the Sea is a polished tourist attraction, and its appeal is spectacle. Knowing that in advance makes it easier to decide whether the ticket is worth the price for you.
