Best Sunset Spots in Phu Quoc: Beach Bars, Hilltop Views & Free Beaches
The best sunset spots in Phu Quoc range from hilltop bars above Duong Dong and lively beach clubs to romantic waterfront restaurants and quiet free beaches. The experience changes completely depending on where you go, so it makes more sense to choose the kind of evening you want first.
So I would not choose a Phu Quoc sunset spot based only on which one looks best on Instagram. Choose the kind of evening you want first.
Practical information was checked in September 2026. Opening hours, entrance fees and entertainment schedules can change, so check again before making a special trip.

Before You Go: Timing Your Phu Quoc Sunset
For most of these places, arriving only when the sun is touching the horizon is too late.
I would aim for roughly 45 to 60 minutes before sunset. You get the softer pre-sunset light, you have time to order something, and at popular venues you have a better chance of choosing where to sit.
Restaurants are a little different. If the whole point of the evening is an oceanfront table at On The Rock or Camia, booking ahead makes more sense than relying on luck.
And remember that a good sunset evening does not require a perfectly visible orange sun. Phu Quoc gets cloudy days too. The changing light over the water can still be worth going out for even when the actual sun disappears behind cloud.
Hilltop and Rooftop Sunset Views
Chuon Chuon Bistro & Bar: Best Classic Hilltop View
Chuon Chuon is one of the established choices for seeing Phu Quoc from above.
The restaurant sits high over Duong Dong, with the town below and the western coastline stretching toward the horizon. It works equally well for cocktails or dinner, which makes it easy to arrive before sunset and stay until the city lights begin to appear.
This is very different from watching the sunset directly from Long Beach. Instead of being surrounded by sand and sea, you get the scale of the island: rooftops, hills, coastline and water all in one view.
The final road up is steep, so this is a place where arriving early makes the evening much easier.
Best for: first-time visitors, panoramic views and sunset dinner.
Sơn Trà Hill 1973: Best for a Quieter Hilltop Evening
Sơn Trà Hill 1973 fills a similar geographical role but offers a different mood.
If Chuon Chuon feels too busy for the kind of evening you want, Sơn Trà is better suited to sitting down, ordering something and staying for a slower conversation while the light changes.
That is why I would keep both in this guide rather than choose one and remove the other.
Choose Chuon Chuon for the classic Phu Quoc hilltop name.
Choose Sơn Trà when atmosphere and a quieter evening matter more than visiting the most recognizable spot.
INK 360: Best for Rooftop Cocktails
INK 360 is a completely different sunset experience.
It sits on the 19th floor of InterContinental Phu Quoc Long Beach Resort and was designed by Ashley Sutton. The giant octopus-inspired forms around the bar make the space instantly recognizable.
This is not a casual beanbag-on-the-sand stop. It is the option for cocktails, a polished rooftop setting and a high-level view over the sea.
The venue currently describes its dress code as casual, so there is no need to treat it like a formal restaurant. Still, the setting makes more sense if you want to make an evening of it rather than arriving straight from a swim.
Best for: cocktails, special occasions and a more polished sunset evening.
Sunset Hill: Best for a Tropical Garden Dinner
Sunset Hill deserves a place here for a different reason.
I visited it as a large garden restaurant rather than a classic rooftop bar. There are tropical plants, ponds, paths, wooden seating areas and enough space to walk around before dinner.
That changes how I would use it.
I would not come here only to take one sunset photograph and leave. It works better if you want somewhere atmospheric for dinner and drinks, with time to explore the grounds first.
Best for: dinner, couples, families and a quieter garden setting.
Beach Bars and Beach Clubs
OCSEN Beach Bar & Club: Best for Sunset That Turns Into a Night Out
OCSEN is one of the easiest places on this list to recommend when you want the evening to continue after sunset.
Before dark, it is a relaxed beach bar with beanbags on the sand, drinks and an open sea view. Later, more people arrive, the music becomes more important and the atmosphere shifts toward nightlife.
That transition is the main reason to choose it.
You do not need one venue for sunset and another one for later. OCSEN can cover both.
I would arrive comfortably before sunset if sitting near the front matters to you, then stay into the evening rather than rushing away once the sun disappears.
Best for: groups, cocktails, music and a longer night out.

Sailing Club Phu Quoc: Best for a Full Beach-Club Evening
Sailing Club makes more sense when you want the whole beach-club package.
There is a pool, beach, restaurant, drinks and evening entertainment, so you can arrive in the afternoon and stay for dinner rather than treating it as a quick sunset stop.
That makes it particularly useful for couples or groups where not everyone wants exactly the same thing. Some people can spend time by the pool, others can settle into dinner, and everyone can stay for sunset.
Best for: pool + beach + dinner + evening entertainment in one place.
Sunset Sanato: Best for Iconic Sunset Photos
Sunset Sanato deserves more than the short paragraph it had in my original Phu Quoc sunset roundup.
I have been here myself, and the real attraction is the combination of sunset and large-scale beach art.
The famous long-legged elephants standing in the sea are the obvious photograph, but there are other installations around the beach too. It is better to arrive early enough to walk around rather than entering at the exact moment of sunset.
On my visit, I actually reached Sanato on foot along the beach from the Marina side, which turned the whole thing into a longer coastal walk rather than simply arriving by taxi for a photo.
Current admission is around 100,000 VND, but treat that as a current price rather than something permanent.
Check current Sunset Sanato information on Trip.com
Best for: photography, couples, families and anyone who wants something more visual than an ordinary beach bar.

Hedone Club: Best Around Phu Quoc Marina
Hedone is a newer addition to this guide because I visited it after writing my original sunset article.
It sits close to the Phu Quoc Marina area and has a more polished, relaxed beach-club feel than OCSEN.
I would not send someone here specifically for a big party. That is not its role in this article.
Hedone works better if you are staying around Marina or Bãi Trường and want drinks, food and a sunset by the water without travelling back toward central Duong Dong.
This area is also one of the parts of Phu Quoc I know particularly well after spending an extended period around the Marina.
Best for: Marina-area stays, relaxed drinks and sunset dinner.
Sunset Beach Bar & Restaurant: Best in Central Duong Dong
Sunset Beach Bar & Restaurant fills an important gap in this guide: a convenient central option.
Not everyone wants to take a taxi north to Ong Lang or south toward Marina just for sunset.
If you are already staying around Duong Dong, this gives you beach, sunset, drinks, music and evening entertainment without turning the night into a transport plan.
The atmosphere is closer to OCSEN than to On The Rock. Come here when you want a social evening rather than a quiet romantic dinner.
Best for: central Duong Dong, drinks, music and an easy sunset night out.
Romantic Sunset Dinners
On The Rock at Mango Bay: Best for a Romantic Dinner
For a proper sunset dinner, On The Rock remains one of the strongest options on Phu Quoc.
The restaurant sits at the sea edge at Mango Bay in Ong Lang, with water and rocks directly around the dining area.
This is exactly the kind of place where I would stop trying to fit three sunset locations into one evening.
Arrive, get a table, order dinner and stay.
The setting makes more sense when the evening itself is the experience rather than when you are trying to collect another sunset photo for the day.
If you specifically want a table facing the water, book ahead.
Best for: couples, special dinners and evenings where you want to stay in one place.
Camia Restaurant: Best Quiet Ong Lang Alternative
Camia should not be treated simply as “the place to go if Mango Bay is full.”
It has its own oceanfront setting and works well for people who want a calm sunset dinner around Ong Lang without choosing a louder beach club.
The distinction is useful:
On The Rock has the more recognizable romantic reputation.
Camia is the quieter alternative when you mainly want sea, sunset and dinner.
Best for: quiet dinner, couples and people staying around Ong Lang.
Sunset Town: Sunset First, Fireworks Later
Lotus Rooftop / Bar Con Sói: Best for Sunset + Fireworks
Sunset Town works differently from most of the other places in this guide because sunset is only the beginning of the evening.
When I stayed in the area, Bar Con Sói was useful because you could combine several parts of the night from one rooftop: sunset, food, drinks and later the fireworks.
The venue is now presented as Lotus Rooftop / Bar Con Sói, so I would check the current branding when navigating there.
If you are already spending the day in southern Phu Quoc, this makes much more sense than crossing the island purely to sit in another beach bar.
You can also combine sunset with the larger evening attractions around town. Read my full Sunset Town Phu Quoc guide if you want to build a complete evening rather than just choose a rooftop.
For sunset photos around the waterfront, also see my Kiss Bridge Phu Quoc guide.
And if you want to stay for the main evening show, you can check Kiss of the Sea tickets on Trip.com.
I also have a separate guide to Kiss of the Sea in Sunset Town if you are deciding whether the show is worth adding.
Best for: southern Phu Quoc, rooftop drinks, sunset, dinner and fireworks.
Best Free Sunset Spots in Phu Quoc
Long Beach: The Easiest Free Sunset
A sunset guide does not need to pretend that every good view comes with a cocktail bill.
Long Beach is the simplest option on Phu Quoc.
Find a section you like, sit on the sand and stay.
Some parts have resorts and bars behind them, while others feel much more casual. Either way, you do not need a reservation, entrance ticket or evening program.
This is what I would choose when I wanted a sunset with no planning at all.
Best for: free sunset, last-minute plans and maximum flexibility.
Ong Lang Beach: Best Quiet Free Sunset
Ong Lang is the stronger free option if you want something quieter than the busier central sections of Long Beach.
The western location gives you the right sunset direction, while the surrounding rocks and vegetation make parts of the coastline feel less like a resort strip.
It also works particularly well with the romantic dinner options above.
Watch the sunset from the beach, then go to dinner around Ong Lang afterward.
Best for: couples, quieter evenings and a free sunset followed by dinner.

Where to Stay If Sunset Evenings Matter
Where you stay on Phu Quoc changes which sunset spots are convenient.
If you want to build several evenings around Sunset Town, La Festa Phu Quoc, Curio Collection by Hilton puts you directly inside the area, close to the waterfront, Kiss Bridge and the main evening attractions.
For a quieter beach stay in the south, Premier Residences Phu Quoc Emerald Bay is closer to Khem Beach while still making Sunset Town easy to visit.
For a higher-end resort stay, JW Marriott Phu Quoc Emerald Bay Resort & Spa combines the Khem Beach location with one of the island’s most distinctive resort designs.
If you are choosing between this area and Sunset Town itself, read my Khem Beach & JW Marriott guide before booking.
You can also compare the practical differences in my guide to where to stay in Sunset Town Phu Quoc.
Getting Between Sunset Spots Without a Scooter
One thing that is easy to underestimate on Phu Quoc is distance.
Ong Lang, Duong Dong, Long Beach, Marina and Sunset Town are not one compact evening district. A place that looks like “another sunset bar on Phu Quoc” may actually be a significant drive from where you are staying.
That is why I would usually choose a sunset spot near the area you already plan to spend the evening, instead of crossing the island for a marginally better view.
If you are travelling without a motorbike, my Phu Quoc Without a Scooter itinerary explains how I would structure the island without depending on your own two wheels.
Which Phu Quoc Sunset Spot Would I Choose?
For panoramic views, I would start with Chuon Chuon.
For a party evening, OCSEN makes more sense.
For photos, Sunset Sanato is the obvious choice.
For a proper romantic dinner, I would head to Ong Lang and choose On The Rock or Camia.
For a polished rooftop cocktail, INK 360 is in its own category.
For southern Phu Quoc, I would stay around Sunset Town and combine sunset, dinner and the evening shows rather than driving north.
And if I did not want to spend anything at all, I would choose Long Beach or Ong Lang.
The paid venues improve the evening around the sunset.
They do not improve the sunset itself.
FAQ
Where is the best place to watch sunset in Phu Quoc?
It depends on the experience you want. Chuon Chuon is a strong choice for panoramic views, Sunset Sanato for photos, OCSEN for nightlife, On The Rock for a romantic dinner and Long Beach for a simple free sunset.
What is the best free sunset spot in Phu Quoc?
Long Beach is the easiest option because it stretches along much of the western coast and requires almost no planning. Ong Lang is better if you want a quieter atmosphere.
Where should couples watch sunset in Phu Quoc?
For dinner, On The Rock and Camia are the strongest choices in this guide. INK 360 works better if you prefer rooftop cocktails, while Sunset Sanato is stronger if photographs are the priority.
Where should I go for sunset and nightlife?
OCSEN is one of the easiest choices because the evening can continue naturally after sunset. Sunset Beach Bar & Restaurant is a convenient alternative if you are staying in central Duong Dong.
Is Sunset Sanato worth paying for?
It makes the most sense if you specifically want the beach art and photographs. If your only goal is watching the sun go down over the sea, you can do that for free on Long Beach or Ong Lang.
What time should I arrive for sunset in Phu Quoc?
Check sunset time for your exact travel date and try to arrive around 45 to 60 minutes beforehand. For popular restaurants or places where the position of your table matters, arrive earlier or reserve ahead.
Plan Your Phu Quoc Sunset Evenings
For Sunset Town, consider La Festa Phu Quoc if you want to stay within walking distance of the area’s evening attractions.
For a south-island beach resort, compare Premier Residences Phu Quoc Emerald Bay and JW Marriott Phu Quoc Emerald Bay Resort & Spa.
Planning a complete Sunset Town evening? You can check Kiss of the Sea tickets on Trip.com, then use my Sunset Town guide to plan the rest of the area.

Final Thoughts
There is no single “best sunset in Phu Quoc” because these places solve different problems.
OCSEN is not On The Rock. INK 360 is not Chuon Chuon. Sunset Sanato is not simply another beach, and a free stretch of sand on Long Beach can be exactly the right choice when you do not want a program at all.
Choose the kind of evening first, then choose where to watch the sunset.
