Van Gogh Exhibition in Ho Chi Minh City: Monet, Tickets & Tips
The Van Gogh exhibition in Ho Chi Minh City is an immersive art attraction at Gigamall, with digital imagery, music and installations inspired by Van Gogh and Monet. Go for the experience of colour and movement around you. Expecting original paintings on loan from European museums would set you up for disappointment.
Monet & Van Gogh Art Lighting Experience makes sense as an indoor stop during a longer Saigon stay, particularly when you enjoy visual storytelling. I would not build a flight from Phu Quoc around this exhibition alone. Add it to a city break with other places you genuinely want to see, and the travel effort becomes easier to justify.

Where is the Van Gogh exhibition in Ho Chi Minh City?
| Planning detail | What to know |

| Names used in listings | Van Gogh & Monet Art Lighting Experience; Van Gogh & Impressionist Masters |

| Time to allow | Set aside around two hours, then check the selected ticket’s time limit |
| Original paintings? | No: the attraction interprets and reproduces the artists’ work digitally |
Gigamall is outside the central sightseeing streets around the Opera House and Ben Thanh Market. Plan a separate journey to the mall rather than treating the exhibition as a quick detour between nearby landmarks. Use the mall name and full address when arranging your ride.

The Gigamall exhibition listing gives weekday hours of 9:30 am–10 pm and weekend hours of 9 am–10 pm. These are not a promise of admission until closing: the ticket listing checked for this guide showed last entry at 8 pm. Confirm the admission cutoff for your date before setting off.
What the light experience actually feels like
In a conventional gallery, you can stop in front of a painting and choose how long to look. Here, the image sequence has its own pace. Light, changing scale and music direct your attention; the setting becomes part of how you encounter the work.

The appeal is easy to picture: a painted sky expands across the room, the colour surrounds you, and details that would occupy a small part of a canvas become much larger. That can spark curiosity even without much art-history knowledge. It also changes the work, because animation and a soundtrack are decisions made by the exhibition creators.
Give the projection sequence time before reaching for your camera. A photograph can show the colours, but it cannot capture the relationship between the moving images and sound. Then decide which parts invite a closer look and which mainly work as a photographic backdrop.

Monet, Van Gogh and the changing exhibition
Monet’s water, gardens and shifting light give the digital format a different mood from Van Gogh’s more emphatic colour and brushwork. Watching that contrast is more rewarding than trying to count how many famous images appear. The question is what happens to a painting when it becomes a room you can enter.

The joint Monet and Van Gogh experience launched in June 2024. Gigamall subsequently announced a refreshed limited version opening on 31 December 2025. Its current directory also uses the broader description “Van Gogh & Impressionist Masters”. Layout and emphasis can therefore differ from older photographs and descriptions.

Treat the numbered-room lists in older guides as a description of a previous version. The useful booking questions are whether the projection experience you want is included, whether there is a time limit, and which activities require an upgrade.
Standard or VIP tickets: where to spend your money
For a first visit, start by comparing the basic admission with the next category up. The projection environment is the reason to come; extras should earn their price through something you will actually use, such as a listed VR session or painting activity.

At the check on 19 October 2026, the ticket page showed Standard, VIP and Special categories. Standard was displayed at about US$11 and VIP at about US$17, with a two-hour admission description. These are indicative online prices, not fixed counter rates. The Special category has its own eligibility conditions.
Before upgrading, read the package inclusions rather than relying on the word VIP. Confirm VR access, painting materials, drinks or souvenirs individually. A photograph of an activity does not establish that it is included in every ticket. The older Luxury package descriptions and buy-one-get-one offers should not determine your budget unless they appear in the conditions for your booking.

Visit independently or take an art and café tour?
Independent admission gives you control over how long you spend looking, taking photographs or trying an included activity. It also means organising your own journey to Gigamall. That suits a day with one main indoor stop and a flexible finish.
There is also a GetYourGuide art-and-café outing that combines the exhibition with Tan Dinh’s pink church and Oasis Coffee. The listing advertises about four hours and an English-speaking guide. This is a broader sightseeing purchase, so compare its itinerary with what you would arrange independently.
Check the chosen option for exhibition admission, transport arrangements, coffee and any holiday supplement. The widget below opens that combined tour, not a standalone exhibition ticket.
Photographs, children and the projection rooms
The ticket conditions permit personal photography without flash and restrict commercial photography and live broadcasting. Follow the instructions in each space and avoid blocking the view while setting up a shot.

For a family visit, consider how each child responds to dark rooms, moving images and amplified sound. Visual storytelling does not require everyone to read long labels, but that does not make the environment comfortable for everyone. Ask about the specific projection and VR restrictions before buying an upgrade.
Anyone sensitive to flashing or moving imagery should check the venue’s suitability guidance directly before booking. An immersive exhibition is a different environment from a room of still paintings; do not assume the two will feel the same.

Turning a Phu Quoc break into a Saigon art trip
Build the city stay around more than one indoor attraction. You could use another day for Landmark 81 and Vinhomes Central Park, with a riverfront walk and a different view of modern Saigon. Keep the journey to Gigamall separate in your plan instead of assuming all the sights sit within walking distance.
For another hands-on activity, the Ho Chi Minh City cooking-class comparison helps you choose between formats. It adds an experience of making something yourself alongside an exhibition designed around looking and listening.
Choose accommodation for the whole city stay. My Saigon hotels with rooftop pools comparison covers places to unwind between outings. Once the area is decided, compare hotel availability on Trip.com for your dates.
For the journey from Phu Quoc, compare flights for the dates you can actually travel, including baggage and time on the ground. Leave the arrival day flexible rather than making an exhibition reservation depend on the flight arriving exactly on time.
Is the Van Gogh exhibition worth the detour?
Make space for it when the attraction is the transformation itself: seeing painted colour become light around you, with music carrying the sequence. It is less compelling when your priority is original art, a scholarly account of the painters, or a short first visit packed with central Saigon sights.

My recommendation is to treat it as one considered stop in a city break. Buy the level of access you will use, allow time for the trip to Gigamall, and arrive expecting a contemporary interpretation of paintings. That expectation matters more than the number of rooms or the longest list of package bonuses.
